American Quartz Banger Review with BorOregon Glass

If you are into dabbing as much as we are, then you will appreciate what good quality quartz can do for your dab game. There’s nothing like taking a fresh dab of some beautiful, terpene rich extract through your favorite functioning heady glass and a crisp new quartz banger.

The problem is, most of us are financially forced into quartz banger mediocrity. Not everyone can afford an expensive, American made banger. If you remember the interview I did with Brendan Fitzpatrick of Fadespace on episode 193 of the Hot Box, you’ll also remember that their bangers, while definitely nice, are quite expensive. We put the $220 Fadespace jumbo hybrid banger up against a $20 China jacketed banger. I don’t want to spend too much time rehashing old wounds so to speak, but if you want to watch the video and read the article, you can find it here on Stuff Stoners Like.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to American made quartz. I’ve been really enjoying the quartz by Jacob Meuser, which you can sometimes get on his Instagram for right around a hundred bucks. I also like the Hoyes Quartz bangers, which you can find from $70 all the way up to $120 for the XXL when they are in stock.

Lately though, I’ve been trying out the new quartz bangers BorOregon Glass has been making, and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. He’s using all GE 214 quartz like American quartz makers should be, he’s making the welds nice and clean, and he’s not charging an arm and a leg for them.

You can get a basic BorOregon quartz banger for $60 shipped, all the way up to $100 depending on the size and if you want a cup insert or not. We’ll be checking those out next time for sure. But for now, in the couple of weeks that I’ve been using the BorOregon quartz bangers, I think they work exceptionally well. I haven’t had one explode in my lap yet, which is always a plus.

It’s also pretty badass that he can call me earlier in the day and ask what size banger I want, then bring it over that evening. Service with a smile and all that jazz. As I said above, the welds are clean, have great airflow, and look good while getting the job done. As long as you follow the how to keep your quartz clean guide I wrote here, you shouldn’t have any issues with them chazzing up.

The issue we sometimes have with the cheap chinese bangers, is that the airflow is too restrictive. This is usually due to janky welds. They get all misshapen and restrictive, when all we’re trying to do is breath out here. These ones, like other well crafted American quartz bangers, have a nice size hole that offer plenty of airflow providing hit after hit of great functioning water swirling dab action.

I should also mention, BorOregon Glass makes cool little glass rigs too, and if you live in the Eugene Oregon area, make sure to follow his Instagram page. He’s got a bit of the ol’ stash and dash bug lately. We’re also giving away one of his rigs as part of the 2500 cult follower giveaway I’m doing on my Instagram page, @thejamhole.
